I see the mountains
they're just silhouettes, off in the distance
and I see the tops of the trees
oh how they grow so high
reaching arms out to the sky
and I watched the wind blow through their branches
like it blew through your hair
and the morning birds were singing
while you played your guitar
the grass still wet with dew, from the night before
and the light it fades away
and darkness comes
and all the stars come out from hiding

and told stories all night long
and as the darkness fades, I watched you walk away
and of course I, I went the other way
and I walked under the trees
